I'm setting up the Torque Pro app so I can monitor Boost, Coolant Temp and Transmission Temp while towing my Camper. I would also like Oil Temp and Oil Pressure, but it seems like these are not available for our trucks. I've added the Ford specific PIDs to Torque Pro and there is a PID for Oil Temp, but I get no readout for it. There is no PID listed for Oil Pressure at all. Being old school, Oil pressure was pretty much a standard thing in the old days. Seems like our trucks don't broadcast a lot of basic info over OBD as not that many of the built-in PIDs in Torque Pro show any output.
I did a full scan with Torque Scan and got a list of 24 PIDs that gave a response when polled. This took a while as it scans all 50,000+ possible 22xxxx PIDs. Now my questions are: Does anyone know what sensors these are for? Is there a way/place to find this out? What the is formula to scale the output correctly for display? If anyone can help I can post the list of PIDs I found, just didn't feel like typing that much right now.
I guess I can understand not having a temperature sender for the oil but I would sure think there is a pressure sender somewhere. Just need to know how to access it. I really don't care about all the acceleration and 0 to 60 time stuff that does appear to work.
