Don't know what your trying to accomplish, but good luck.
For info, my wife's 2018 Subaru Outback with the 2.5 flat 4, 180 hp, is only about a half second slower than your Ranger.

I understand limiting stragglers showing up in say a Honda Civic trying to go on a technical trail - but not being open to other trucks with the same basic function is just nothing more than elitists prick sauce garbage. All it does is re-enforce stereotypes justified or not.

I don't like it when taco-bros do it and I don't like it when some of our members do it either.

A half second is an eternity on the drag strip. You ran your wife's Outback on the strip? What was the e.t. and mph?

Didn't need to "run" it....
Quarter mile speeds and times can be found on many sites, not affiliated with the manufacturer...
Quarter mile times for a 2018 Subi Outback with the 4 cul average around 15.25 seconds.
Quarter mile times for a Ford Ranger, like my 2021, average around 14.7 seconds.
Unless your going to make a Ranger into a dedicated drag truck, just throwing gobs of money into it to shave a second or so off of a quarter mile average silly, as just a stock Subi Impreza WRX STI will still be faster.
Also, just making it faster in a straight line doesn't mean squat if it handles like a porkey pig....it would take a lot more money to turn it into a vehicle capable of handling the added HP, than the money spent on the HP.
Its a truck, with a heavy front end and an ass end that is higher than my shoulders. My kids "mommy van" probably handles better.
I've "gotten on the pedal" of my 2021, and yes, it's quick, but at speed it's not a canyon carver.

I was comparing times w/ my sons '15 Tahoe, same HP/# but the ranger was 1+ second faster. and then I found out he re-ran in the cool of the evening w/ E85 to get the numbers. I'm Installing a 3" SPD down pipe and full exhaust, we'll see if the time is better.

This owner probably has a vision and goals for his truck, not all of these Rangers have the stance you described either.

Improving the speed of ANY vehicle can be fun for those into it.

Just boys having fun, not making a drag truck (already have one) Just making some upgrades and need a performance metric to see if it makes a difference.
The truck will be a daily driver / Off road vacation rig, I like playing in the sand, so I need all the power I can get.

OK, got it now. Your initial post sounded like someone who was going to start a project by throwing $$$$ into it to shave a few seconds off...
Lots have done it but it takes mucho bucks, and then you have to worry about any problems with engine/tranny reliability.

4x4 launch is the best! It might cost you a couple mph but it’s pretty much your only way to get good et without a lot of suspension. Besides you’re splitting the load on both diffs that way ?
I launch mine in 4wd with just a little common sense and it’s been fine.
