Hello! 680 miles on my new Ranger. I'm curious, my parking brake lever seems to go almost all the way up prior to brake engagement. Is that typical? Has anyone adjusted the parking brake to ensure engagement happens earlier in the lever lift? I had planned to take it to the dealer, but now I'm headed on a 3000 mile trip and don't have the time to take it in. If it's a quick adjustment I could do it myself. Anyone have similar experience?

I would see if you could have the dealer look at it. A number of years ago I had a brake issue after having some brake work done and the dealer wanted me to bring my vehicle back ASAP - probably to avoid any liability issues due to brake problems. Better safe than sorry.

I'm not in a position to say for sure with the Ranger but with previous vehicles of mine the parking brake automatically adjusted itself. Just took a few pulls and it would sort itself out. Something to try I guess
