Mine does this on occasion too. It's a higher pitched sound like someone squeezing the neck of a chicken and it's gasping for air!?

It's a good thing
Front of the shifter on console, the center button, lower row...cancels warning audio...
Have a pic? I don't have my Ranger today.

That only turns off - parking assist, not all chimes - the chime volume issue has been reported on various chime outputs.

My chime changed (again). The proximity sensor chime changed to high pitched rather than the normal sound. It has done this in the past and corrected itself. This time I resorted to disconnecting the negative from the battery for about 5 minutes. This accomplished the 'reset' and it sounds normal again.
Gremlins...

I'd look into that battery. Those sound changes are part of the warnings for a low battery.

Are you possibly tapped into anything for power (Lighting/TBC)?
or
Added any extra lighting?

Fuse #62 BJB, shares the power circuit -LH lighting circuit & CHMSL, Brake Lights with the Front Parking Sensors. Might have something in the lighting circuit triggering a power pulse.

If so, try taking anything added out of the circuit and see if that resolves the issue.

One of the Front Sensors may be glitching as well, when the Chime sound raises, do any of the indications on the display look different than normal. such as indicating red/yellow when they should be green?

The Chime itself - originates from the IPC, will have to dig some on possible issues on this circuit and where the fault possibly lies.
