FINALLY after 5 months of battling the DEALER not ford, my truck is at body shop to get painted. The paint was peeling on the Rockers and the bedside, pretty significant sad part is I had to show the service department how to submit the claim to Ford and then I had to wait two months for a loaner vehicle because it will take 2 to 3 weeks to paint the entire truck, you gave me a tiny ass ecosport to drive around, I miss my truck already

2 to 3 weeks to paint? That means it's going to sit for 2 weeks and then get painted. I started my adult life painting cars at my grandfather's bodyshop and no vehicle takes more than 2-3 days to prep, prime, paint, and finish.

Yikes! Looks like contaminated body panels.

Ughhh. I'd be fearful of the long term effects of a repaint. Back in 2003 I bought a new Ranger, and it was involved in a hit and run after two week of ownership while parked in my apartment complex parking lot. The body work looked great! The damage was to the passenger front fender. Over years of ownership though, the finish on that fender seemed to age not as nicely as the rest of the truck. After roughly eight years, it had a noticeably flatter finish than the rest of the body.

Hopefully getting it back next week, 11 days total

you've got the standard rock chips and scratches which i am sure they would have fought you on.

I have no idea whats caused that other frosty looking mess though.
contamination before the paint or clearcoat was applied?
some sort of contamination from the road or the environment?

either way, glad you are getting it looked after. Im sure in a year or two it would be looking much worse.
From what I'm told. Ford put a rock guard coating on and THEN painted over it without using a primer 1st
