Optional keyless entry pad

Was thinking of this when I bought my truck, sales guy said they wore out quickly and did not recommend it...

I loved the built in keypad my F-150 had, still worked after 16 years.

I wrote that a long time ago. Once the replacement came in I haven't had any problems. Again, there was a bad batch--dying after a few weeks is not normal/expected.

Sadly, the availability of replacement parts didn't improve. Nobody expects a global pandemic.

It says that they are not compatible with remote start vehicles, anybody here get one to work with a factory remote start vehicle?
I'm hoping they will work but Ford just does not want a running vehicle with a alternate way in, dunno, I really need one for when I go riding.

I don't have one but from what I've read there are several who have them and also have remote start. You can also use the Ford app to remote start, lock and unlock your truck but you're dependent on cell service with that. If you get one you can put it inside the fuel door so it doesn't look like a $2.00 stick on afterthought on the outside of your new truck.

There are a couple of part numbers for things that look the same but work with different options. Mine has remote start and a keypad.

my 2021 came with remote start and one of those cheap ugly key pads plastered on the door. it works with my remote start car just fine. but now if I want to use the key pad I walk over to my tool box where its stuck instead of on my truck.
