Usually don't pay much attention to older beaten pickups but glanced over at a truck on my right and it clearly said "Ranger" on the front quarter panel, had antique Colorado plates so it was at least 25 yrs old, I'd guess from the late 60s or early 70s and it had two tone paint, one color was maybe red at one time but this was faded into a kind of rust color, reddish brown. Looked to be about the same size or perhaps a bit larger than current Rangers. I'm glad I have a 2019 but besides the faded paint this guy's Ranger was in pretty decent shape. I didn't have a chance to challenge him to a race but I think I would have kicked his a**:)

If it was from the 60's or 70's it would have been a Courier.

I've seen courier and I think they were smaller ? this thing was pretty big and clearly had a Ranger emblem on the side. And it was old.

The full size F100 had a Ranger model in the early 70's.

I think it was a trim level.

This is my friends Ranger. 451 Cleveland in it. Old gas too! My 1997 just got retired. Up here in NE the salt on winter roads eats them alive. Frame had fist sized holes I could put my fist through right at front leaf shackles. Had a 3.0 and went 287K with an 8’ bed

The "Ranger" name was used as a trim level on the F series full size trucks starting in the late 60s through late 70s. It was a high trim level, with a "Ranger XLT" as well.

The truck named Ranger was introduced as a 1983 model, and was a compact truck (although built just as sturdy as the full size). That's the truck we all know and love.

And if that "Ranger" you saw had the 6.4L like my 1969 does...no, you would not have kicked his a$$ ?
