Looking for the OHM rating of the stock door speakers on the B&O system. Anyone replaced or removed them???

The B&O system is lacking in balance to me and with only treble, mid, and bass as controls I'm struggling to get rid of the bump in that boxy 90-150hz region. Ive disconnected the factory 6" sub and this helps a lot but clearly the door speakers are still reinforcing this problem area. I have a compact powered 8" Fosgate sub lying around with built in crossover which I'll likely through in the truck.

Without getting in to deep on revising this stereo via DSP or full replacement of the components up front with dedicated crossovers I'd love to limit the low end in the doors. To my surprise these woofers play fairly low, I'm guessing down to 60hz or so but including the emphasis in that boxy region.

Inline "bass blockers" can filter below a set frequency to help me cut low end from the door speakers but the frequency itself is dependent on the speakers OHM rating > 75hz cut @ 8 OHM, 150hz @ 4 OHM, 300hz at 2 OHM. It can be common for OEM systems to use a combination of 2 and 4 ohm speakers in the same system.

So anyone know the OHM rating of the stock door speakers (woofers) on the B&O system?

I may just have to pop the door panels off and pull the speakers to determine but figured I'd ask.

I just saw your post and I am in the process of upgrading the speakers in my B&O Ford OEM system for now. I was wondering if you have done your upgrade and how it sounds since the B&O is tuned with the OEM speakers installed.

I ordered a pair of Morel TEMPO ULTRA 602 6.5" component speakers for the front and Morel Maximo Coax 6 for the rear doors. The rear speakers don't really do much in the B&O system, for the front seat sound. I decided to upgrade the rears since I was taking the panels and speakers off for sound insulation anyway and the Maximos are cheap and have to be better than the original Ford OEM. will be using 4 ohm speakers but have not measured the originals.

There is are some informative threads in the F150 Raptor forum concerning the 2018/2019 Ford premium B&O sound that you may want to look at .

The problem with the B&O sub is that it's too tiny to do any real bass. There is no real bass range extension with the B&O setup despite the speakers sounding clear and punchy/good. I could guarantee, without measuring it, the B&O sub drops like a rock below 80 Hz well and likely peaks in the 100 Hz range where it's most efficient for it to. If I weren't a lazy ass with other priorities than modify the stereo in my week old truck I would have already taken some sweeps with my minidsp UMIK-1.

I'm really surprised Ford isn't using 6x9s as standard like FCA/Jeep/Ram does. Those setups, with a good sealed door panel from the factory, produce more bass from the doors that they don't need subs except for the needs of serious bass people.

I absolutely do not condone or recommend the use of passive bass blockers (series capacitors) on any speaker. They will create a resonance with the voice coil inductance and add a harsh grating sound in addition to cutting the bass.

My plan is to keep the stock B&O speakers and find a way to replace/upgrade the sub. Someone on here was a thin JL TW5 (?) in their Ranger that looked perfect.
