I just wanted to put this out there for those who dont have a way to use a Hi-Lift Jack. Many of us have either a lift or leveling kit on the Ranger. With thay said if you.go too high you won't be able to use the factory jack anymore. Due to this you have to Cary another jack around(Hi-Lift or Floor Jack). Well I did find this( https://safejacks.com/ ) a while back and plan to get myself one later on for my Pathfinder(dont have a way to use the Hi-Lift). I thought others might be interested in the option.

that actually looks pretty cool. Hi-lifts are terrible for changing tires anyway, so that would probably be a good option regardless.

It does have a fair bit of uses. Yes in general its a bottle jack you get but with all the different attachments its hard to argue. Kinda one of them things that's better to have and not need vs need and not have

yeah, I still carry a hi-lift, and will use it to change a tire if I need, but it's definitely not the most stable solution for changing a tire, and needs to be approached with caution.

Usually just a couple shakey rocks shimed level with smaller shakier rocks or some small round logs with jam rocks to keep them from rolling out from under the jack (almost) is acceptable...

Why not an inflatable air bag jack ? 4 ton rating.
Works either off exhaust or an air compressor.

They are good to an extent. Two down sides that I'm aware of. Fairly easy to puncture on sharp surfaces(got to be careful there) and if you have split exhaust they dont fill up well.

Yeah, but if your going off road you will almost certainly have a tire patch kit and a compressor, right ?

Hi-lifts are for Guccilanders.

They have their uses, but I'd reckon 99% of people who own them have either never used them before, or do not know how to fully use them.

I carry a bottle jack with some wood pieces.

Compressor? Sure. Tire patch kit? Not really, more likea tire plug kit.
