I would not tow much more than 5k with our trucks or any small pickup. We did not buy these tiny truck to have max towing. LOL

if thats your comfort level then by all means stick to it., but the truck is absolutely capable of it (and more). As far as it being a "small" truck... its all relative. Yes, it may be small than an f-150 or a super duty, but its massive compared to the previous generation. The current Ranger is bigger, and more capable, then older gen f-150's.

At the end of the day, its a truck. Use it as needed and within your comfort zone.

I stand by my statement. Ask someone thats had to have one repaired. 3K to have timing components replaced. Under 100K miles. All of my Fords have made that plus.

They have a word for this its called anecdotal.

My last ford needed a driveshaft center bearing at 40k.. thing should of made it 200k+. All sorts of 2.7 bronco owners that needed a brand new motor under 10k miles because the valves/seats were crap. More manual bronco owners needed new throw out bearings under 10k. Countless cam phaser issues spanning DECADES. Crappy hvac boxes. Leaking cabs (both my new fords)... anecdotal is right.

Your experience, while valid... doesn't defeat the numbers.. which don't lie.

Wow. I didn't know there were so many toyota fans on a Ford forum. I worked in dealerships for most of my career. Ford, GM, and a few imports. Even AMC-Jeep. They all had their problems, none were perfect. I'd just rather support a US based company, simple as that.

I've never owned a Toyota and I am telling you your anecdotal personal experiences doesn't reflect reality of the inventory as a whole. No, much like those you accuse of being fanboys, you let your personal emotions overrule logic in a perfect example of irony.

Based on your "retired" occupation you should be displaying more wisdom than you currently are.

Also, save us the "buy american" - which you probably posted from your Chinese made smartphone, that you drove in your Japanese Honda to the store to purchase, while wearing your cloths made in Mexico/India.

Anyone here old enuff to recall WalMart's buy made in America campaign, I think back the 80s ? when you read about the whole story and what was going on behind the scenes it's revealing.
