Hi All, new to the forum here. Picked up a 2020 XL 4x4 a week ago.

My Ranger didn't come with fog lights, but I would like to install some aftermarket Baja Design ones. I am wondering if anyone has figured out if it is possible to swap the headlight switches so I can use the factory fog light switch to keep them working in an OEM configuration. I am guessing it will take some wiring and then some ECU coding change.

It looks like the switch with the fog light control is like $30. Any help on where to start would be helpful. I searched around, but didn't find anything yet.

Thanks

I have the factory fog light assembles with there pods that bolt into back of bumper that I haven't got around to selling yet. I installed the Ford Performance assemblies that are plug and play.

I may be interested in those. But I need to figure out the wiring first. Does anyone know how the fog light wiring connects into the main harness? Is there a harness similar to this one:

when I pulled the bumper off my 2019 XL recently, I noticed no empty wiring/connectors in place where fog lights would have gone. I'm guessing there's a completely different harness on the XL models. you'll have to do some serious wiring work to manage to make the OEM switch work.

I ordered a switch that controls fog lights. I haven't found the harness yet.

@srbeards how'd your install go?

Has anyone replaced the XL pods with factory fog light pods? I'm curious as to whether they bolt right in?
@dguffin @RoadBoss

@Aleut dude how's your install coming along? Did you find a wiring harness?
I figure I'll run new wires.

I ended up having them turn on with the headlights via relay.

I wired the fogs to come on with the running lights using a relay.
