Fog light switch ?

I’m the new owner of a 2020 Ranger (Lariat) and I’ll admit - I’m still getting to know.

looking thru the Owners manual, I was trying to figure out how to turn on the fog lights ...

I see fog lights in the front bumper....
I press the fog light switch - nothing happens - press it again - nothing happens
I have the headlight switch set to”auto” (if that makes any difference)

my lights + brights work just fine

Am I missing something obvious? Am I supposed to push and hold the switch to make them come on ?

Do they only come on when I’m in drive and not just idling in the driveway?

bad fuse ?

operator error?
ideas?

when the switch is set to AUTO, the fog lights will come on with the head lights.

They may not come on in park. Try setting parking break take out of park. The DRLs only work in auto and not in park.

The fog lights should work regardless of gear so long as at least the parking lights are on. Put the headlight switch in the second or third position instead of AUTO and try again.

Remember if the brights are on, the fogs will turn off.

Any idea if you can change this functionality? I hate that my fog lights shut off when the high beams are on.

You can find that info in the FORSCAN wiki thread. Very easy to do with a windows laptop and an OBD tool.

Edit: If you search "bambi mode" you should be able to find it

I believe they only come on when the engine is running. At least that was how they worked on my 2011, haven't checked on my 2021.
