I have a 2022 Ranger Lariat. The audio system does not have an audio input jack. For years, I have used the Sirius Onyx docking system between home, two personal vehicles and a motorhome. It's worked well for us. Though the Ranger Owner's manual shows and audio jack there is none (unless I'm missing it). I just tried a USB to 3.5 mm jack and it didn't work. The Ford system tells me the USB is not supported. Any ideas?

Fm modulator is your best bet. I had the same problem. I just broke down and paid for sirius on my ranger.

Or fm modulator.

I had an FM modulator on my last truck, sound quality was terrible and on road trips it would not work due to different stations cutting in.

The truck has bluetooth, I would try to find a Siruis bluetooth adapter.

Pretty sure you can get a Sirius app on your phone.
SXM app over CarPlay works pretty well. That's what I use when I'm in a rental car.

Right, but that will use your phone's data, which unless you have unlimited data (can be an issue with unlimited too if you get throttled) it can be a problem.

You can also try calling Sirius and asking what they can offer for a 2nd radio. I'm paying a heavily discounted rate for my Ranger because I pay for Music & Entertainment on my wife's car.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I just got an offer from XM for my Ranger for $5 a month. But I have it at home and pay $5 a month for the app, then stream it via apple car play to the head unit, works pretty well.

FM modulator!?! Do you guys have shag seat covers and the The Club!? A 6-disc CD changer in the center console!?

I am not familiar with the onyx but a quick search shows they make bluetooth docks for several onyx models. Several advantages over FM modulator:
  • Significantly better sound quality
  • Album cover and song info on the main display
  • Steering wheel and console buttons can be used

I think he's tried that ?
Using android auto or apple car play and the USB cable accesses he phones music. I had android auto in my take home Durango, although I rarely used it, it worked as intended. I prefer my high capacity USB in all my vehicles. It's super simple and no wires just select it from the sources button when the radio is on.

Thanks for your suggestions. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I have a service appointment with the dealer next week for other issues. The dealer called this morning to say the parts are in and schedule an appointment and I ask about the connecting the portable XM. It was definitely a curve ball for him. He said to bring the equipment in and they would look at it. I'm not very confident they will be able to help me.

The issue is we are retired and don't use our Ranger and Jeep everyday. The XM is shared between the home, motorhome and the Ranger and Jeep. I have docking stations for each and it has worked well for over for 11 years and has proved to be the cheapest alternative.
