I know there's always a few lemons with anything you buy and I feel bad for those who have had problems with their especially those who've had to have Ford do a buyback. I couldn't be happier with my Ranger and I look for any excuse to go out and drive it. While I've owned many F150's they were always just a truck to me, I never did any Mods to them but with the Ranger I love adding mods to it. Of course this forum doesn't help and I have to restrain myself most days after looking at what others have done to theirs! :curse:
This forum even makes you spend money on OTHER things besides the Ranger
(Love the Kore belts and magnet :bandit:)

Have to agree with everyone else in this post. Six months and 7500 miles. I haven't owned anything in the past that I've like more (though my '95 Acura Integra was fun to drive and would be a close second). And yah, this forum has cost me A LOT of money  But I'm ok with that.

I got to get those lights!

One of my favorite accessories. I wasn't going to bother because I thought the lights wouldn't be bright enough. They are bright enough. I don't know if the lamps are on the DRL circuit.

Bought mine from Stage 3 Excellent service

I was planning on getting the amber ones, but after seeing yours, I'm liking the white lights better.

I see that members seem to have a lot of issues with the Gen5 Ranger. I don't doubt these issues. I want to express my total satisfaction with my new Ranger. My last Ranger was an 05 with the 4 banger & 5 speed manual. What a different animal this Gen5 is.! My wife has a Mercedes GLC 250 small SUV and she says the Ranger is quieter on the hwy. She says it rides better. The Ranger is an XLT so not top tier, but she's amazed at all the goodies that come standard with that trim level. I am very happy as well. I have an Escape and a F350 Super Duty Diesel and the Ranger is the one I like driving most!
Just my two cents worth...……….
I have to say, I had a Lemon 2019 Ranger Lariat. I liked the truck up to the point that it failed me. Then I bought V2 - 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat and love it.

I've never had a vehicle that I've enjoyed to drive more than my Ranger. I literally enjoy waking up early now because I get to drive my truck. Best 40 min drive I've ever had.

To buy another after having a lemon with the first shows how much you really like the design! Kudos to you, at least you realize that in manufacturing a lemon is always possible, regardless who the manufacturer is

Well said. We kept our last Ranger for 26 years, and while our new 2019 has been more-or-less flawless, we probably won't keep it quite as long for reasons you mention - automotive technology is changing much faster now than it was 26 years ago and there's a strong possibility that what's available in 5-10 years might make it worth changing vehicles more quickly than we have in the past.

In terms of the problems, as everyone has said, some are inevitable, and as long as Ford (and other manufacturers) deal with them transparently, there's not much more they can do other than make it right. However, after reading through this forum for half a year or so now, there have been a handful of problems that either Ford or the dealers have tried to brush off as being within the range of normal operation even though they fairly clearly seem not to be, based on everyone else's experiences. While I feel bad for people who received a total lemon and had to have it replaced, I think I feel a little worse for these folks who have one of the handful of more obscure problems that they will likely be living with for the life of the vehicle because things aren't quite broken enough for the dealers to consider it a problem even though most other people aren't experiencing it. That's always the worst kind of flaw to have, especially in products like vehicles, which have complicated or restrictive policies for product returns and dealing with flaws.

I couldn't have said it better myself. While there are a few lemons that appear, They do seem to be very uncommon, and some might even be due to the parts availability issues we've seen and heard about, not any systemic failures.

My Ranger is probably my favorite vehicle I've ever owned and I also look for excuses to drive it. I look forward to having it for quite a few years - the only thing that would change that would be if Ford came out with something I just couldn't say no to with the new Ranger - but it would have to be quite spectacular. At this point, I'm not sure even a 6 foot Crew Cab option would get me to trade this truck in! The only thing might be if they did a hybrid option that pushed the mileage up to 30+ MPG average.

It's not without its faults but that's why I find ways to modify it. I still enjoy it and it's light years better than my old 95.

Like SafetyDan, my 2019 was a lemon and was repurchased by Ford July 31, 2019. On the day I turned in the 2019, I ordered a 2020. On December 15, 2019 my new Lariat arrived. WHAT A SWEET TRUCK. I couldn't be more pleased. Love driving it. I hooked up a trailer yesterday and hauled 2.5 yards of compost-----drives like a dream!
