This is my first truck under 10,000 GVW so this will be my first experience with TPMS.
can the system be programed to turn on the light at a lower pressure?
I don't want to disable it, but just lower the threshold of when the light comes on.
sorry if this has been discussed before but I searched and really did not find much.

I dont know if it is possible but be aware that if you are not going to lower pressure for Offroad then it is a bad idea to do so. Yes you can still look at your tires but if you can't tell then the sensors will tell you

It seems likely that the TPMS warning lamp activation threshold is a programmable setting. To the best of my knowledge, the USA FMVSS rule is that the warning lamp must illuminate when tire pressure is 25% or more below the placard numbers while operating within some parameters of speed, distance traveled, time, etc. This is for the factory-specified and installed tires on new vehicles, and does not address the effects of non-stock tire installations.

There is some discussion on the Super Duty forum at ford-trucks.com about using Forscan to modify the factory-programmed threshold. The Ranger can be equipped with a range of tires that would require different activation thresholds for proper TPMS operation. To comply with the FMVSS rule, the 38 PSI LT tires on some models would need different settings than the 30 PSI tires on other models.

For my own personal use, I would simply ignore the TPMS warning lamp if airing-down for off-road use caused it to illuminate. Some people don't see the value in a properly-functioning TPMS system, but I can personally attest to two instances in the past 10 years where my wife would almost certainly have experienced a high-speed blowout if the TPMS were not functioning correctly. In my book, it's a valuable safety feature that I want to work correctly on the highway. If anything, I would like to see threshold at 10% underinflation instead of 25%.
