Just had a Truxedo LoPro Tonneau cover and Elevate racks installed. Will run this for a couple of weeks and decide if I want to lose the bed space and get a Decked drawer system.

Looks good as is. We have so little bed space, I wont even run a toolbox on this truck lol
I ditched my tonneau cover for this reason. I didn't like not having a decent sized lockable storage space, so I finally got a Leer canopy this last year and honestly couldn't be happer... except for that incident at Lowes trying to bring my new grill home... thought we'd pick it up in a box... but NOOOOOO, they assemble all their grills... ugh...

Good to know about Lowe's. I didn't know it was assembled. My Traeger was off of Amazon a few years ago, That was a big box and 2 hours of my life I won't get back. I put the side swivel boxes in the bed with my hard Leer tonneau. So far it's been perfect. Few times I needed the bed, I was able to push up behind cab and it was very stable even on the highway.

My biggest gripe on this truck is the bed.
I have to load up depending on the mission.
It makes it very time consuming loading and unloading, tonneau cover off on, so try to carry straps, flashlights, recovery rope, folding shovel, and basic screwdrivers, ratchets and sockets in the truck as every day carry.
Or if you just do what you need the truck to do then you can be specific on what you carry.
Good luck to ya.

Bed space is like any other space. The more you have, the more you want. If you have a 3-car garage, you wish you had four. If your driveway will accommodate four cars, you wish it was big enough for six. I was happy to sacrifice the bed size for a truck that could fit into parking spaces that are ever smaller. And the bed holds way more than an SUV would.

I'm coming from a 2014 Sequoia and I would fill it up with things I didn't need for work. I'm going to figure out something with all my packout stuff and try to avoid using a Decked drawer system. I'd like to be ably to use my bed at times.

Sounds like you should be good without a decked system then, as worst case you open up the tonneau and stack it all in there.

I may get a 4x8 sheet of wood and mount the packout trays on it and snap in, so the stuff doesn't slide around. That will be easy to pull out to use the bed.

You can look into a bed slide too, although it'll take up much more vertical space than a sheet of plywood would
