Good looking truck. Welcome to the forum, I'm sure find more stuff on here to add to it, in your profile picture it looks like you already have a Ranch Hand grill guard on it. You'll see everything from mild to wild on here. Enjoy 👍

Hello all, new here, thanks for letting me join. Names John and this is my 2023 Lariat.

Bought the truck last August to replace a '17 Dodge Journey so that I could buy myself a travel trailer. Settled on the Ranger as it was the best option as my commute is only 5km one way and it fits into my parkade entrance. Actually, I had to go to a stubby antenna as the original was a bit too tall and was hitting the door. Also, my dad is a Ford mechanic, so makes repairs easy and cheap, and warranty issues easy too!

Started with just running 87 Regular fuel, then changed over to 91 and it runs a lot better, feels like more power, better response. During the winter I run with between 300-500 lbs in the bed and get about 12 MPG and during the summer I get between 15-17 MPG.

Has spray in bed liner, aftermarket trailer brake controller, no auto start/stop, manually slide back window. Truck currently has 45,600 KM's on it. Bought it with 38,985 KM's, was a lease vehicle for some company, so think it was mostly highway mileage.

Really the only things I wish the truck had is the upgraded speakers, which I personally believe the Larait should of come with, and push button remote start instead of using the app.

Welcome Johnathan, if you think 91 octane helps you should look into a tune, they really wake the truck up and may help a bit with the MPGs.

Good looking truck.

Thanks! I'm still under warranty, so I don't know if I want to do a tune yet. I have thought about it because it would be nice to have a bit more power for when towing. My worst tank was 11 MPG (21.24 L/100KM) which was during the coldest part of the winter (high's of -30c) and around 400 pounds winter weight in the bed running just regular 87 and my best tank was 23.74 MPG (9.91 L/100KM). I have found a place local that does sell 91 Ethanol Free so have been buying that as I'd rather just run pure gasoline. There is only one brand of gas station that now sells the ethanol free 91 octane fuel (Co-Op).

Thanks!
Ya, I have a few things I want to buy for it including a rollup cover for the bed now that I found out the tailgate locks (doesn't have a key lock, just power). One thing that would be cool to buy would be a larger fuel tank as this truck has a smaller tank than my Journey had! I did find a couple, but the prices are just insane, would be over CAD$3,500 for one!
