MY22 Vin Number Received

My salesman called to say he received an email from Ford with the vin number for my truck at 10:34 CST. I have not received anything from Ford about the order acceptance or scheduled for production, but he checks the orders every morning and calls the customer with any changes. He checked at 7:50 this morning while I was waiting for the oil to be changed in my wife's car and it was still in order received unscheduled status, but a couple hours later and it was changed to scheduled.

Now to find where I put that accessory, aka break out the credit card, catalog.

Interesting. I ordered on 1/10 XL SCab and haven't received anything today as many others have. Order was confirmed/accepted on 1/10 and I got that email. So who knows. Thanks for the update.

I haven't received any emails from Ford, just from my customer oriented dealer. If it holds, I may have won the crap shoot.... time will tell.

Didn't the salesman/dealer take your email address? That way you get the Ford communications? I only expect to hear from the dealer when my truck arrives on the lot.

Yes, but for some reason I don't get them from ford. Fortunately my salesman keeps me updated.

That's customer service right there! Glad you are scheduled, but most importantly, seems you have a good dealership that actually follows through and keeps you posted during this unusual time

Yes I am fortunate to have a customer oriented dealership. The salesman said he could probably get the deposit waived since I have been dealing with them for so long, but I insisted on putting down the deposit to keep the bookkeeping straight for them and me.

Earlier, when Ford was about to start production, the salesman called to say something in the black appearance package was causing some of the orders with the black appearance package to be delayed and did I want to cancel that package and go with a more readily available one. I told him no, I had a vehicle to drive and was in no hurry, and I wanted the black appearance package. The dealership could have said nothing, let me get frustrated and cancel the order (that was not going to happen), moved the truck to inventory when it came in and sold it for a few thousand more.

That and adding a dealer surcharge of several thousand dollars to the sticker price. As you said, we will remember those who played games and those who dealt straight with us. When I placed the order, the dealer printed off the order sheet and it showed MSRP, which was what I expected, and the x-price.... all above board. The did not try to low ball me on my trade and gave me what I expected them to. Done the deal and moved on.
