I don't think China will be the competitor here in the States, probably these guys will be.

That's all I need - I already buy too much from him for Soupie.

So might as well just get his - I wonder if all things Amazon fit it! =D

I was hoping for Maverick to get a second battery for years (PHEV). It would be too practical if it had that I guess. With just one battery, it is just a better-gas-mileage-commuter-car (with a huge trunk). I gave up and now I have a true 4x4 (not just AWD).
My $25K 4x4 Ranger STX offers range and use cases that reasonably priced EV trucks just can't match. (Rivian dual motor AWDs are $75K.)

This is interesting, several years ago I wrote into Motor Trend magazine after they touted how the Tesla trash can and Rivian were the wave of the future. Yet their Tesla truck couldn't hardly make 220 miles on a charge and lost battery charge % overnite in Reno NV in the cold because the computers continued to operate systems overnight. If you use A/C or heat your battery charge is degraded significantly.
I asked them to look at the number of charging stations in the U.S. in every state. At the time there were 3 charging station in North Dakota. Now they are up to 9. Wyoming has 3....
Then I asked them to take a Tesla, load a trailer with 4 snowmobiles and drive from metro Detroit to Houghton lake (195 miles) in January with no charging stations at that time in upper Michigan and then come back home and how would that work out. I told them no matter how the left coast loves electric vehicles they don't work out well for the rest of us especially those who live in the cold and have to use a truck for tool not as a pretty piece of art and local transportation.
This years truck of the year competition took place in Michigan towing real world loads (Campers in hills and back roads). Hey maybe they do listen to readers.

Then there is the fire hazard. I would not park an EV in my garage... and forget about a charging station in the garage. I realize the fires are rare, but a 1% chance of burning your house down is too much... It's called going all in and betting the house. The risk may be small but the impact is too great.

Model T Moment, huh !!!!!
Original Model T cost $850, and has production kicked up, went as low as $280.....
Wonder how Ford is going to match that !!!!!
Adjusted for inflation, $850 in 1908 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $29,700.57 today, an increase of $28,850.57 over 117 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.08% per year between 1908 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 3,394.18%. - something to think about. Probably didn't have tranny problems...

From the above link:

"The first will be a midsize four-door electric pickup with a targeted starting price of about $30,000, assembled at Louisville Assembly Plant and reaching customers in 2027. As fast as a Mustang EcoBoost. More passenger space than the latest Toyota RAV4 – with a frunk and a bed."

$30,000 would probably sell more vehicles, if it does sell for that.

Another yuppie urban heated leatherette seat, status symbol to haul their precious 1 bag of miracle grow for their herb and vegan gardens in the window planter.
