While I do like the ABS swing-out wheel well tool boxes and will be using a Bak Revolver tonneau, I'd like to mount a bed tool box that is a bit tougher.
I'm good with a standard steel tool box that I could attach to the bed with an internal lock (I have a metal box in my FJ40 that I drilled a hole in, tacked a giant washer to reinforce, and pass a chain into it with a padlock inside, the other end of the chain is welded to the bottom of a home-made roll bar).
But what I'd really like is a steel or aluminum pork chop box that I can keep my come-along, tools, jumper cables, and chains in.
I don't have the truck yet (should be here in the next two weeks - grain of salt) so I don't have measurements, but I figured if anyone's used a metal box like this in a Ranger, they'd be here on this forum! =)
I'm open to welding up my own but if one's made, I'd love to hear about it (and it would probably be cheaper!)
