I've never been to one either until moving out here. They just started having the Mecum Auctions here in 2019 and I'm only 15 minutes from the State Farm Stadium so it's an easy commute.

I can see how some get caught up in the bidding. The auctioneer does a great job at trying to get the bids up especially when there's several bidding. They do have some nice average priced vehicles there with no reserve and if you're lucky you can grab one for cheap money. Last year they had several Mini Coops with low mileage and all sold for $7k-$8.5K.

This is a complete Corvette collection this guy was selling. Wish it went up on the block before we left.

Anytime! I love the old classics and wish I had the money to either buy one or restore one. Who would've thought back then these would be worth so much? I see you're in IL and there's a Mecum Auction there in Schaumburg this fall, October 13-15. If it's not to far I recommend going it's a fun time and brings back a lot of memories.

I went to the one they had here in 2019 or so, fun time. The B-J Scottsdale event is one of my bucket-list things to do after I retire in the next year or so,,,

You're right it seems just like yesterday, time sure does fly by. How are you feeling now Greg? Hope you're feeling better and the brain fog has lifted. Although you might not be able to tell much from before you had covid. lol  :giggle:

Tuned in to watch the auction on TV.
I too was surprised at how many old/new Broncos were there.
And the prices they fetched!

Wow, that Hummer is Butt-ugly! But the Raptors and, yeah, let's face it, the RAMs at the entrance look great and even, well, tempting! Interesting stuff and definitely food for thought. Thanks for posting this!

Yeah they were smart to have all the Raptors and TRX's at the main entrance. Everyone went right towards them and they were really nice but just way to big.

I kind of like the Hummer and (I think) it does look way better in person. This morning is was behind the block waiting its turn and I asked one of the guys if I could get inside. He let me sit up in it and man this thing is a monster! There are so many gauges and buttons you'd need a course on how to operate everything in it. Pretty cool truck though and I'll post what it sold for soon. Spoiler, it was way more than I thought. lol

Are those T-tops on that Hummer?
Duke, I took a better picture today so you can see the roof panel off. There's 4 bags to store them in and they fit in the front truck which surprisingly is very small. I think the Lightning truck is much larger.

The GMC Hummer Electric Pickup sold for $260,000 o_O One of the guys from Mecum told me one sold at another auction for $320,000.

A few specs he told me is it weighs 9,000 lbs and the batteries weigh 3,000 lbs. The range is 340 miles so it's ok but I guess you can't expect much form a truck that weighs 4 1/2 tons, has 1000 hp and does 0-60 in 3 seconds. lol

Saw two new Broncos go up. The first one sold for $60,000 and the second one for $75,000. In another year or two they'll be worth $38,500. lol
