I talk too deer, rabits. Birds, and squirrels all the time here in the sticks. They just look at me like im dumb lol.

I was in a tree stand once, got into the woods while it was still dark. A bit after first light I felt tree bark hitting my hat, then heard the claws coming down the tree, my 1st thought was oh boy here we go, this is how I get bit. Squirrel climbed down RIGHT NEXT to my ear, he looked away so I turned my head and when he looked back I was eye to eye with this grey squirrel who literally rubs his eyes while hanging from his back feet and gave me a double take like " WTH you weren't there when I went to bed"! I didn't blink, luckily it was just warm enough I couldn't see my breath. He barked at me once expecting a reaction but I just sat there. He climbed down, looked back once then jumped to the next tree and ate his breakfast in front of me... shame I didn't own a cell phone or camera.

I think he has some wire insulation stuck between some teeth - teach him to floss! =D

Cheech will bark at me like crazy to go for a walk, but he never directly talks back to me. The cat just bites my ankles if I'm walking barefoot. I may, or may not, exclaim something as I may, or may not, punt her across the room.

These vagrants used to chew on my cable coax coming to the house so I started feeding them with the birds and they've been good....til I run outa peanuts
