Well I have a update on the F150, we were driving it and began to smell burning oil at a red light. And of course at less than 14 days of buying it we brushed it off as another vehicle. The next morning on my commute I'm the sole vehicle at a stop sign and the smell hit the cab again no denying it this time. I popped the hood and found the timing chain cover leaking. I bought Motorcraft rtv took it to my mechanic after researching we could seal the outside it was where the head, block and timing cover come together. And it developed a misfire at high rpm enough to put the check engine light on. I bought plugs and coil boots, ford recommends changing those when plugs are changed.
I get it to the mechanic we put it on the lift it's worse than I thought I have a valve cover leaking, the middle plug seal in the valve cover on the opposite side leaking. A turbo leaking coolant, the vacuum pump leaking, the water pump starting to leak. The remote oil filter block is wet, the rack and pinion plugs below the oil filter are saturated.
And for an extra kick in the nuts the front knuckles and lower A-arms rusted badly.
I went from proudly owning a low mileage one owner clean carfax Tremor to not sure we were going to keep it.
On rockauto parts alone were $1,600 before labor and coolant.
My wife bought the truck and did all the paperwork she did not mention she bought a warranty and she recalled a good portion of those items were listed as covered. We contact Hanania and we only have to wait 30 days before we can make a claim. The wife takes it on the 30th day their mechanic finds everything we did they submit a claim.
We spoke with the dealer before taking it in they claimed we will cover anything the warranty won't at full cost you shouldn't be having issues this soon. The warranty company denied the claim they were supposed to wait 31 days before submitting it. The dealer is covering everything its currently waiting parts and will hopefully get it back Saturday or next week.
The owner of Hanania stepped up and ate the full cost. In all my years I have never had a dealer do this to say I'm shocked is an understatement.
Here's photos of the timing cover leak and knuckles.
