Last night, I drove a short distance to go fishing. Fished for 20ish minutes, no fish, got back in my truck to leave and the front passenger wheel was screaming like a liberal at the sight of a Tesla.
It was metal on metal....loud screeching like a brake pad worn down to metal on the rotor. I checked 4wd....emergency brake...nothing engaged or out of the ordinary.
63K miles....have never heard or experienced that before.
Took it to dealer this morning, it squealed slightly as I backed up, and then the sound was gone moving forward and driving to the dealer. Of course they found nothing. Brake pads were at 8mm up front and 5ish in the back (they've been squeaking a lot lately also). Rotors looked fine....took tires off to rotate and inspect, and they found nothing. The tech seemed very thorough and came out 2 or 3 times to ask me questions.
What's the deal? Why the one time occurrence?
