No, the boot is so tight it doesn't let any water in, just don't slice the boot any larger than needed. I had to run a 1/8" vac line with power and signal wires for the aux braking system.I'm thinking of doing the same thing. One question though, Did you ever run into water leaking into the cabin through the hole you cut in the rubber firewall boot.
