Very astute, sir! =D

Yep, after 21 years, I became an old fart redundant! =D

My work laid off 4% of its workforce and we were offered "voluntary separation." Yikes!

The choice was:

1) Take your chances and, if you get canned, get 4 weeks pay,

OR

2) Get 4 weeks pay plus 21 weeks (for my 21 years) plus 4 weeks pay for insurance plus my annual bonus.

So 4 weeks pay or about 39 weeks of pay! hmm ...

Man, I couldn't hand in my laptop fast enough!!! =p

But they kept me on another 3 months (slowest 3 months of my life, some folks were let go within a week, others 3 months, and some 6 months - depending on how critical your job was) and then I could say "cya suckers!"

I figured I needed to do something and my education is in geology, so I started a nonprofit.

Holy crap, so much more paperwork and time than just an LLC like our game business.

But here I am and Soupie has some boss magnet signs now! (traded my dump babe magnet status for door magnets)=D

Funny, folks ask me what it is and tell me they've seen Soupie around town (I knew that chin chain/bumper chain, would be appreciated!).

One day, while walking Kota about 2 miles from our house on the rail trail next to a small pond, some dad fishing with his kid said "hey, you have that little yellow boat!"

Guess peeps are finally realizing how awesome a dump runner Soupie is! =D

Have a new bike parked next to the Ranger, thought the color was familar. Bike is new to me, 2024, 2000 miles. Traded the 04 RoadKing with 90,000 miles, quite a leap forward.

When I saw Poutine Feast, the only image in my mind was this...

886-640w.jpg
It’s in a small Scottish town in Ontario so what’s better than Poutine?

Haggis Poutine!

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse! 😆

With a name like Haggis Poutine, you know it's gotta be good, right?

So they listed a website.

Poutinefeast.com.

I went there and grabbed the tagline:

Ontario's Touring Poutine Festival
Get ready for a weekend bursting with flavour, fun, and festival vibes! Taste incredible poutines from across Ontario, enjoy live entertainment, compete (or cheer) in epic food competitions, and dive into games and activities for all ages. The only question is… how many poutines can YOU handle?

That would be Zero Bob...

It sounds a bit like a travelling chili cookoff, but with poutine instead of chili.

The next time I'm in Canada, I will make it a point to actually try poutine, likely against my better judgement.

Because I can't fairly disrespect it if I haven't actually tried it.

Of course, all bets may be off after I get a look at it or a whiff of it.

Makes me think of these guys who try the "unusual" foods from different areas.

Here's the Surstromming.

Caution: Occasional adult exclamations when they experience it.

Edit: It's actually recommended to open the surstromming with the can submerged because the smell is so overpowering.

The video below is hilarious, especially around 1:55 when the lady who was running the camera and making fun of the guys for being pansies got hit with the smell. 🤣

They opened a can of fish that was obviously under pressure? Well, sounded like it was under pressure.
Only one thing that will cause a pressure build up in a sealed can...
I guess for clicks, that's what they did it.

Gross. 🤮
Funny. But gross. I only made it half way through that video.
