I the specs under load capacity I see 1770 lbs for Super Crew.
Quote; " 1770 lbs Max payload when properly configured"
What is considered "Properly Configured".
Looking to put my motorcycle (Street Bike) in the bed on a custom lift
system.
Appreciate any information on proper configuration.

Thanks

The 1770 is likely the maximum capacity for a supercrew that is configured to achieve the minimum curb weight. The best thing for you to do is go to a scale with your truck loaded with all your passengers, normal traveling gear and a full tank of gas but excluding your motocycle. Then, compare that scale weight to the GVWR on your driver's door jamb. The difference between the two is how much weight you can haul in your Ranger's bed.

I understand the numbers. I'm looking for the physical. Are extra springs needed? Different shocks? Air bags? Or is suspincion built from the factory already configured for maximum weight?
thanks

The GVWR is what Ford engineering says the Ranger can safely carry. That rating takes into account the frame, suspension system, wheels, tires, drive train and likely many other things. If you exceed the GVWR you may be exposing yourself to liability issues if an accident were to occur.

You are correct. As a former truck driver that is always my concern, not to exceed GVWR or GAWR or GCWR.
I've looked at all of the spec's.
Thank you for your input.
