Been spending a lot of time driving in the desert at night last winter. I realized OEM lights are inadequate when you're in the middle of nowhere, with no street lights and no ambient lights anywhere. My XLT only came with Halogen lights. But a simple swap to modern Auxito brand LED bulbs were a game changer! The Auxito brand Amber Fog Lights are awesome for urban use and and just ok in the wilderness. I wanted more in case I needed to see Jackrabbits waiting to run across an empty desert road. So I added the two additional auxiliary lights from Auxbeam at bumper level. These are combination spot/fog amber lens. I was so impressed, I added two more on the hood. The so-called "Ditch Lights". The lens on the Auxbeam ditch lights are flood (I don't need to shine a light beyond the High Beams of my standard kick ass LED upgraded headlights.
Recently tested in the dead of night in the middle of an empty desert. Wow! Just amazing. Now I can spot Chupacabra's, Jersey Devils, and Predators trying to jump out onto the road!
I much prefer the less glaring amber lights over white lights. Easier on my older eyes.
