Yes passed directly over us. But our house is steel and concrete and a no flood area. We're safe, but sadly many are not.
Still raining heavy. Been raining straight and heavy for 20 hours now. Didn't have power this morning for 5 hours then came back. Now back off 2 hours ago and still without. So I have my headphones plugged into my phone and listening to David Gilmour Live at Pompeii at the moment.

Glad you and your family are ok Richard, thoughts and prayers to everyone else there. These typhoons along with the hurricanes we get here are really scary especially if you've ever been through one. It was one big reason I chose AZ as there's really no natural disasters here in the valley. Northern AZ does experience wildfires quite often though. We have had an occasional micro burst and during really heavy monsoon rains some areas are prone to flooding. Stay safe!

So do they name typhoons over there like hurricanes over here ? Methinks they are the same thing , never got why they named it something that makes it sound ok when it isn't ...

Actually they have names when in the Pacific. But when they enter PAR Philippine Area of Responsibility they get renamed. Makes no sense to me.

I am sure there is some. But haven't heard of any major issues. Being there is over 7,100 islands it has to be a certainy.
