Not trying to be an arse.....but your first post said wind noise.....your last post said "potential" wind noise ???????
Had my Ranger for 4 years and yes, I heard wind noise...when the windows were down !!!
Windows up I heard road noise from tires or noise from ac....
It's a truck....it is going to be noisy.......I have an Expedition now, and it is QUIET.....and it does NOT have any window trim...it is just like the Ranger.
So....you want quiet....get an Expedition !!!!
Don't forget the wind noise from my top hat, err... roof rack. THATS some wind noise 😂

IKR, this is the quietest truck I have ever been in
This...............and the only time I ever notice any wind noise in this truck is when the wind is blowing 20 to 40 mph across the road.

Second that! I’m used to driving work trucks with racks and all sorts of tools banging around in the bins. I have no complaints about the Ranger lol

Thank you for all your input. It appears nobody cares about the lack of moldings because you all don’t think there’s an issue. Great! I am done with chasing windshield moldings.

I also agree that the truck is relatively quiet as is. However, my OCD wants to find ways to make it even more quiet. I think new tires will probably be my best bet.

It all works as designed, sure there may be better ways of doing it but as long as it dont leak rain, and we dont know if they did it this way becausse it is actually better 0.05db than trim, they went as far as to invent windows that buffer! look on your front window it says SoundGlass :)
They sell rolls of Sound insulation auto guys use, you can put in the doors and roof as a liner, it really works, the problem with stopping all sound you cant hear when things start to fail or grinding, clicks or pops....

or they hit the wall of Diminishing returns, its an economic principle where adding more of one input ....
engineering is a slippery grey area, I may think a little more is better, but it adds cost to my truck and dont really make a difference

They fixed my wind noise from the windshield when they did the recall. Was removed and re-glued in place. They used the wrong glue on some of them and did a recall.

I am on a quest to reduce the wind noise on my 2023 XLT. From the factory, the truck does not have any kind of rubber moldings around the windshield and the back window. Besides the added wind noise, the truck looks unfinished. I am sure this is another Ford cost saving feature. Anyone addressed this issue with a DIY solution? I am considering taking it to a glass shop and let them add some aftermarket moldings.
Thanks for weighing in.

Thanks for your input. Reduction in general wind noise is what I am after. I already treated most of the truck interior (all doors, back wall, roof) with sound deadening mats and absorption materials. The truck is fairly quiet already, but I am just trying to squeeze additional improvements from other areas. Good point about tires. Perhaps that’s what I should tackle next.
I have the solution that works with almost any vehicle. "TURN IT UP, SON!!" If I blast the music loud enough everything else disappears!! Seriously, I do get where you're coming from. It's nice to hear yourself think. You should have been in my three different 70's F250s with no A/C and the rear slider open for air flow in the summer!! There's your wind noise!! The old Kraco Dashmaster had a hard time keeping up!! 😁
