Switched out the xl visors without mirrors,, to xlt visors with mirros, switched out overhead console to xlt with sunglass holder, switched out speedometer cluster from ugly blue 2.5 inch screen to lariat dual 4 inch. Got bed spray lined.

Cluster is nice what did that set you back?
I got it from a junkyard for 75.00
how did the cluster swap go? any issues?
no it is plug and play, and all lariat things work fine, the only issue is finding miles close to your trucks. You can go forward in forscan but not backward. I actually tried a xlt unit first, but the chip was locked.

I mean absolutely no offense in this question and I ask it out of honest curiosity.
Would it not have been cheaper just to buy a Lariat?

Hey. It's Murica! I totally support him doing that. If I ain't making his payments then I don't get to tell him what to do with his truck. Just trying to follow what the end goal here was.

Oh yeah I wondered too why bother do all the work when you could have just gotten the features in the truck but it's always neat to see what's possible on here

Ya never know...depends on availability of used parts. I know a guy that bought a base 5.0 because he planned on changing a lot of stuff....he found the large display screen used for $500 an the leather Recaro seats for $1200 those seats are like a $2500 option. He's well under the $3500 or so bump to a deluxe interior. I think his original plan was to strip it down an run it hard then he found those deals an started daily driving it.

No not for me. And I didn't want leather seats or all chrome everything. I was upside down on the vehicle I traded in. The items I switched costed about 200 total. It would be different if there was a totally different engine available or something. Plus I knew I was going to modify things and change our stuff like the radio or the "upgraded" grille ect so why pay extra for it if I'm going to change it anyway. Like for example I hate the chrome package that I have with the chrome bumpers. That was 350 of money that I would rather have not spent becaue i am going to paint over it or get rid of it,, but it is what they had on the lot and I got a good deal on the truck with my negative equity.
