You're not kidding brother! As much as we're both looking forward to this I have really bad anxiety now. But I was kind of like this when I moved out here but at that time only had myself to worry about because Annie was still living back in Chicago. By next week the worst will be over and we can start settling into our new area. Thanks for all the uplifting text over the past several months, they really helped!☺
Do not forget to buy a banjo as soon as you get there.

Another reason for a build-up, to run all you piping under the house. It's not just to prevent freezing pipes in attic. Air conditioning/heating ducts not in attic either.
True but there's a lot of rock here (builder said many lots are already sitting on bedrock) and it could cost big bucks to do a full basement or even a large enough crawl space. I'm going with spray foam insulation so the attic will be a conditioned space within 2-4 degrees of the house. I was never comfortable in my AZ house (they're cookie cutter and built cheap) so we're building this one for comfort.

You're so right about that! I was lucky as I got mine on a short sale and only paid $63/ sq ft and sold it for $244/sq ft. o_O I bought right at the bottom of the market crash in 2011 but never did I think it would appreciate that much. That's another reason I wanted to cash out now and move on.

I've been told that if you pack something away and you don't use it in 6 months; you more than likely don't need it.

The exception would be clothes, as nobody gains back the weight they lost :giggle: and holiday decorations.

By the way, I still have boxes in the basement from when I moved in my house.

24 YEARS AGO!!! ;):headbang::crackup:

Friday will be 2 weeks being here and so far we're really liking it, even the weather. Yes, it's way more humid than AZ (although Chris @Chris M and a few others have told me it's been humid there with monsoon season kicking in) but most mornings are nice here and you can open the windows and get fresh air for a few hours. Something you could never do in AZ from around mid April - mid October. We'll see how July and August are but the weather going into this weekend is nice with mid 80 highs and a couple nights at 62.

Not a good look for AZ though.:shock:

What do you mean? The 80s are awesome!!

I think I'd become a vampire if I lived in Goodyear.

Oh I agree I'm looking forward to 80 degree temps. :sun: Or were you talking about 1980? Either way both are great!?

We were starting to feel like vampires living in AZ these last couple years. We wouldn't do much because it's so darn hot outside and even going grocery shopping was a chore. I would bring along my 12v fridge and power station just so we wouldn't have to rush back home with everything. Once mid July comes night time temps are around 106 at 10:00pm so it's still to hot to even walk at night.
