After 9 years of blistering heat it's really nice to sleep with the windows open at night and wake up to these temps in July!

Chris @Chris M Sorry you're having to deal with these high temps and it looks like they're there for a while. What's worse is it's only 5:09 am in AZ and it's still this hot.

Does the banjo music interrupt your days?

It won't seem so nice when you wake up to a pig squealing and a banjo playing cross eyed, cross bred delinquent staring at you.

No, I'm actually getting pretty good at it now. :captain:?

No pigs around only coyotes. There was one howling outside our bedroom window the other night and while I love it now Annie wont walk around the neighborhood. We had them all over AZ along with javelina which are more dangerous.

So is it going to be ArScorpion from now on:rockon:? Coyotes are good, they keep the neighbors cats from crapping in your mulch ?.

Your absolutely right about javelinas being more dangerous (we have them here is our state too) but also a rabid pack of coyotes can create a serious threat...

Get some bear urine crystals and sprinkle around the perimeter of your yard. Yeah it’s a real thing. Worked for me.

Wow that's crazy, needless to say I will never show this to Annie! You think she's afraid now after watching this she'd never leave the house. lol

I don't blame you for not telling her. I live about a block away from an area that has hiking and biking trails and the place is loaded with coyotes that appear tame and docile because they are used to being around people and show no fear.

They have been seen walking up and down our streets and sidewalks like it was their own territory. I learned as a kid not to mess with wild animals under any circumstances.

Thats awesome Paul! I love seeing wildlife and had many different ones when I was back east from wild turkey, deer, fox and even a porcupine one time.

I looked up javelina (figured it was a porker) they do not look friendly ?. Definitely the coyotes out there seem a bit bigger compared to the rascals we encounter at the family ranch in hollister (I’m in the SF east bay Oakland area and Hollister pretty frequently ?‍?.) They’re getting pretty brave but they aren’t a gang of three going after a full grown man brave (they scamper off with a decent clap and a loud voice luckily.).Be safe out there folks.

The coyotes we would see back in AZ were mostly smaller ones running around the city lost and you'd mistake them for a small dog until you got closer. The larger ones are out in the desert and are usually smarter and don't wonder far from there. The two here I saw walking down the street in front of the house were the size of the one Paul posted above. They were definitely more afraid of me and once they saw me they bolted into the woods before I could even get a picture. When we walk and hike I always carry because you just never know if/when you'll come across something feral/rabid like that poor guy in the video.
