I hope the American version of the Ranger makes MUCH better use of that space. I'd be very disappointed if it ends up being the same. Call me old school, but I like to carry a decent set of tools, jumper cables, heavy duty bottle jack, gloves, tow chain, etc. That ain't happening in those little tiny cubies!
I do have to say I'm disappointed in the size of those small storage cubes. The Colorado/Canyon has a much larger storage area.

There's more storage under the other seat cushion, so there's quite a bit more storage than the Ranger has. I have both spaces filled, so I'm going to have to cut down what I carry in the Ranger.
The Colorado seat backs fold down flat, giving a fairly large temporary storage area. Hopefully the Ranger offers the same feature.

Pages 120 and 121 of the Owner's Manual show how to fold the back seat, but it has this note, so guess you can put some things back there, but nothing heavy:
Note - Do not use the rear surface of the rear seat backrest as a load floor.

Sorry, I meant SuperCab
Pages 120-121 in the owner's manual shows how to fold/unfold the seats and it doesn't specify the cab size, so I "assume" the SuperCab folds up.

The owner's manual shows 2 different instrument panels. I'm assuming one with 2 4.2" screens (without tach) is the 4x4. The panel with one 4.2" screen (with tach) is the 2wd. The second screen will be for Terrain Management

EDIT: I assume and it makes an ass out of me. It appears that regardless of drive configuration, the Lariat does not have a tach.

It was my understanding that there is a tach in the programmable screen to either the right or left of speedometer. It should just be an option in the computer. I may be wrong, that happens. Can anyone confirm or deny.
