Source? Because having zero on the lot seems like a very big change.Just read an article this morning that the new Maverick Hybrid will not be available off dealers lots, only on customer order. Must have to fill all the pretty-orders first. Will make it hard to test drive.
This article is 5 months old - predating santa cruz info so assuming they would compete is probably why they make the comparison.I know the writer didn't have anything to compare the Maverick too. But, going with the Hyundai missed the mark IMHO. With the Hyundai being approx. 36K like the Ridgeline, and the Maverick starting at around 20k I think the Maverick will be more popular in comparison. Basically the market has been without a small pick up since Toyota allowed their little pick up's to grow much bigger. And being a bit older than the target market I do remember those little Toyota's running around town in big numbers. Heck, I just sold a '92 pick up(pre Taco), and it didn't take two days for a new owner to pop up. He said he had been looking for one for over a year. So, there may be more looking for a truck that size than the talking heads think.
Had to dig it up.Source? Because having zero on the lot seems like a very big change.
Interesting.
so seems to be that there are too many pre-orders rather than a deliberate strategy to only go custom order. The demand for the standard hybrid powertrain is very strong. As we ramp up production, we are doing everything we can to make sure we allocate vehicles to customers who placed retail orders but plan to have stock inventory to view at local Ford dealerships, as well.
Actually been buys Hyundai vs Ford for last decade, when compared to same class/vehicle 5x’s.Test Driven both, and specked as close as possible both. Maverick more of small truck, vs Santa Cruze being a Tucson with a bed. (Have 18 Tucson). With comparable warranty, (extra cost for Ford)specs close, 1st time Hyundai costing more, approximately $2k. Ford better at item options, then packages. Actually at my Hyundai dealer this morning, had my Ranger Tremor serviced yesterday. So, just what’s best for individual. Figure either good, depending on overall useSource? Because having zero on the lot seems like a very big change.

edit: your post is 5 months old. Didn't realize this thread had been resurrected. MSRP on the santa cruz is pretty close to the maverick.
