Has anyone installed a intercooler tube kit alone or along with a intercooler? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

There are probably hundreds of threads on here about intercooler charge pipes. Utilizing the search tool should help you find what youre looking for.

...but to answer your question, yes. Lots of people have upgraded to aftermarket. Personally I went with Mishimoto.

I swapped the hot and cold charge pipes from stock to Mishimoto. Besides looking a bit better, and hearing the turbo spool a small bit more, they may net a few ponies and pound feet under WOT, but daily driving, not so much.

I installed the Mountune Intercooler Kit. Initially was looking at just replacing the piping, but Mountune had a deal for the kit around Black Friday. Plus I purchased a small travel trailer in December. Figured the upgraded Intercooler could help out on my trips out of Florida.

On my daily driving I don’t notice any difference. While cruising in “S” and getting onto the throttle I do notice more of a push back in the seat. I have the Mishimoto snorkel, so my intake already made quite a bit of noise.

It doesn't really make any difference in performance...a powder coated aluminum tube is better looking and maybe more reliable...in the end that's why I got one...

I went with the Mishimoto pipes and intercooler too!
Don't know how much difference it makes, but WOT feels stronger...
Waiting on downpipe and tune! baby!!

I did the AFE charge pipes but still have my stock intercooler. Seemed to make a difference.

Just the charge pipes gave more of a low to mid range improvement. Which is what they should do. Mostly because the stock rubber expands initially so the first surge of boost is wasted so to speak. The intercooler its self would at a bit to the top end depending on internal flow characteristics. But mostly sustained power is what you would be buying.
