How expensive was the cluster for the swap?I’m considering doing this to my 19 xl stx so i can get terrain management but I’m trying to figure out if i have to swap the cluster or not.

New from Ford about 430,I found mine with mileage close to mine, since you can not change it,from a wrecked truck for 240.

I got a question... how hard was the actual swap to do? I'm looking at going from the XLT to the Lariat cluster and was curious as to how long it took you to perform the swap? Did you have to take apart your whole dash to get it done? Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Can't you change it with FORscan? I thought you can go forward in mileage but not backwards (for obvious reasons). Did you just load in your asbuilt data from your original cluster?

What's your mileage? I'm going to swap my XLT one out and would be willing to sell it to you but I have about 23k miles.

My advice don't. What do you want in the Lariat cluster? I have it and would have preferred the XLT as it has real gauges. The tach is far too small to be useful, the fuel /temp display is dreadful and the RH screen is either redundant or useless. Not about to swap though.

I’m right at about 25k miles so that would be perfect if you do the swap and i would love to buy it off of you

Stupid simple, takes all of about 15 minutes.
Remove both vents from beside the cluster, and take out 4 screws that hold the trim cover around the actual cluster, then 4 screws from cluster.Unplug single connector, and reverse process to put it back together.

Huh...that does look surprisingly simple. Did you do anything about the mileage difference?

I agree. The XLT cluster looks way better. Don't know why Ford even bothered adding the RH screen. It truly is useless.

I did drive mine until they matched, before final install.I actually drove with it in the truck so when I hit the mileage,I could swap since it is so simple to do.
I think if it had been needed,I could have gone to the dealer and had them adjust accordingly

The change looks great, love the look of those clusters. Do you still have the faulty cluster? I am looking for faulty Ranger XL clusters like this one that people would normally dispose of, as I wish to retrofit the pointers/needles into the cluster in my (non-Ranger) car. I need 2 large pointers and 3 smaller ones. I dont need the whole of the cluster, just the pointers/needles so I need to chase up 2 sets. If you or anyone can help, that will be amazing.

I just completed this swap, everything is working well besides one error. I get a "Check Park Aid" error on startup, even after I've disabled all parking sensor related options in IPC. Can anyone advise what I might have missed?

Ugh,looked back to see if I wrote down exactly what and where I disabled these features, and sadly I did not document it.

I do recall though it was as simple as choosing disable said features in the enable/disable menu.

Dig around a bit,as it is absolutely doable. That way you don’t have to hit ok at every start up.
