I am in South Africa and we are using kilometres instead of miles, I’m in a process of changing my instrument cluster but I would like to know if it is possible to change miles to kilometres with FORscan? The one I might buy is in the UK because I cannot find someone that ships to South Africa. Can I also change the numbers in the centre round thing (Don’t know what to call them) and replace with the one without miles only shows kilometres on them. No 1, they what they look like in RSA and number 2 is probably what I might buy. Image Source: Internet

If you source an Australian market instrument cluster, it will look like picture one with just the KM/H markings on the speedometer (no MPH).

There is an option in the BCM in Forscan called "Tire circumference, mm". It's set to 2440mm if you have the stock 265/65r17 or 265/60r18 tires. 1km=0.62mi, so 2440/0.62=3936mm. Setting your circumference to 3936mm will cause it to display the higher "km/h" number. This will work for the radar cruise control as long as you don't also change the settings in the instrument cluster from km to mi.

You've got the digital speedometer too though, if it lets you change that to km/h, I'd ignore the central gauge, that way your fuel range estimate stays accurate.

I believe if you buy a cluster from almost any country other than the US, you will get Kmph as the large and Mph as the small dials. That’s how it is in Canada…

That will also severely affect the odometer. The truck will rack up "miles" at 160% the normal rate.

Yup, I'm an idiot. 2021 Ford Ranger for sale, one owner, high km, LOW MILES! Odometer only reads high because of metric/imperial programming shenanigans.

I’m confused.

Yep, it happens. Now, back to my question - would you be able to change the miles to kilometres from the FORScan?
