I do not have these but from what it spunds like the springs will hutbthem earlyer and they will act like a sping in a way makeing the ride a little softer/manageable while at the same time having the stop a little higher to give yoy more flex/articulation. How well it works I cant say but if you are running the factory springs it may not be a good idea.

I myself of course have the Old Man EMU lift kit and it uses the factory bump stops. Fornthe most part I have not had any issues and if I need to make any changes it will be different springs for load and different shocks for better dapening at best. Would changing the bump stopz really do what I need? Mabe or.maybe not. Regardless I'm not too concerned about it.

I have Icon bump stops...their main purpose is to compliment, allow for more travel when combined with a shock and leaf spring upgrade..

When removing the stock frame mount cup bolt , a little heat and breaker bar may be required. The factory Loctite is equivalent to the red

Should be okay with the shocks you have now. The accordion shape of the Icon bump stop theoretically should dampen the blow on a hard hit when shock bottoms out. I would have a little apprehension with the soft stock shocks letting the the stock spring over arc / flatten on the perch. .kind of like breaking a stick over ones knee

Edit: Almost forgot about these little "Snubber Pads: that Icon threw in the box when I purchased the shocks...they are made to fit between the stock leafs.... a little lower profile , and claim to allow more time on the softer ride spring before engaging the stiff load bearing leaf , for a smoother ride... took me a couple weeks after installing the shocks to figure out what they were...and honestly could not tell a difference after installing...

Left them in place while riding around on the stock leafs...patiently waiting for release of the Icon RTX leaf spring pack...the progressive softer leafs paired with the firm VS 2.0 shocks were a big improvement over stock....

did some more digging- icon’s stage 3 kit includes the bumps without upgraded springs. they do some with their resi shocks. so clearly they are fine to run on stock springs.

MoodyBlue; You are not the first one to break one....I had to use a breaker bar incorporating a back and forth technique I have learned on my job fixing equipment in the field.... small incremental turns in both directions. Took me about 30 back and forths before I reached one complete turn..

There was another thread on this very subject...it gave me the heads up to be carefull...it was not welded..
.

what year are both your trucks? mine popped out pretty easy, and the nut was captive.

2021 purchased in April , did the bump stops in Sept. No corrosion or boogered threads in the equation...

2019 - yes the bump stop slipped out easy- was trying to take bolt out to install Timbren SES bump stop and bolt snapped - i figure the top nut is spot welded to frame - easy job turned into a pain

Anyone have real world experience on how much of a difference these make? I'm running the bilstein 5100's all around, but if these bump stops would be a large improvement in ride quality or bottom out performance I'd be interested.
