Hi Robert,

I would like to help, but really do not understand what happened. Are we talking inside panels or outside for example.. Hope others might more readily understand this grommet of which you speak..

If its one of the rubber grommets in sides of the bed I did the same thing reinstalling it after removing it. Found it on the ground under the truck.

Seriously though, look up from underneath, the bed sidewalls are not completely closed panels. It may just be lying on something you can reach over to get it.

Hi Robert,

I cannot help you with this question...not having been part of designing this Ranger, I can only guess it is an access plug to assist assembly at the plant or access for service. It is there for a reason, but what that reason is, is not known to me as I have been retired for some 17 years now. Many times if you remove the plug the reason becomes clear, ie. bolt access, but in some cases it is not so obvious. Any others understand what this plug covers?
