my 2020 Ranger works ok but.....I have set the temperature at 70*, I keep it at that setting all year. if I use max AC or max defrost the setting changes to 84* when on defrost or 63* when max AC is selected. after going back to normal setting for AC or ending defrost I need to reset the temp to 70*. why ?

Do you just hit Auto to switch back? If I do anything else, I get your result.

Yes, if you Hit (Auto) or (Max Defrost / AC) button again - while in the (Max) modes.
Max drives the Temps (Full HI or Full Lo) - and when you hit the buttons again.
It should revert back to the (Selected Temp)
