Got out this morning to go check on the church during Hurricane Sally. “Your Truck” as my wife named it, held up well to the winds. 70 mph+ and no sway ar all. Here’s a few pics of the early damage, crews already wor on the trees to clear the roads and hopefully get power back on soon.

Stay safe! I used to live just east of Perdo Key, about 7 miles east of Orange Beach which I heard is where it made landfall.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. There were pine trees blocking roads almost every block. People have cleared paths for Emergency Personnel to get through. But the clean up will take months. The storm just took so long to move through and we had plenty of rain already. Most just toppled from the ground being so soft.
Now the issue is getting electrical parts to repair and replace. One electrician said he has two guys just waiting in lines at parts houses to try and get things. Everyone needs stuff but the short supply due to COVID is making it difficult to get what you need.
We were blessed with no damage. Others not so fortunate. Everyone is doing what they can.

Just saw this thread, Joel. Sad so much damage, but people are so good to help each other. Hope ya'll are getting some normalcy back.:)
Thanks...it is amazing how quickly everyone jumped on the debris. There are only a few piles of debris left. Electrical crews from all over the southeast swarmed in and got power back to most everyone within a week.
It was still raining as the storms moved north and people were out with chainsaws, skid steers and front end loaders helping people all around get trees off houses and cars.
We housed Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief teams (about 75 people) at our church for the north end of the county. Mostly retired men and women who come to help. Over three weeks they cleared up over 150 calls from anyone needing help; cutting trees off of houses, clearing yards, tarping houses and they never charged anyone for anything. And this was just the north location. There were two more units south of us toward the coast. Really good people.
FEMA used the church parking lot to distribute food, water and tarps. They were a nightmare. It’s amazing how something so simple can go so badly when you add politicians to the mix.
This was my Rookie-Run, as the locals say, with a hurricane. I doubt it will be the last. Thankfully this one was only a Cat 2. But, i know how to be better prepared and what to expect.
Thanks again for everyone‘s prayers. Life is returning to the some what normal “post COVID life“ as weird as that is.
