my area got hammered by Helene. My house was fine, but lots of places still have no power, no water, and no cellular service. I wouldn't have cell service at my house if it wasn't for wifi calling.

#2 is headed straight for my sister (just north of Tampa), so she bugged out today for our parents' house just far enough north that there are no evacuations there.

People are suffering, needing basics of life. This storm will cause more of this. I urge people to donate to reputable charities and give as much as possible. Samaritan's Purse seems to be one of the best, directing funds directly where it is needed most.

The destruction in the NC/TN mountains from Helena is flat out unimaginable. Almost the entire town of Chimney rock is gone. And not just damaged buildings, the land, the road, the buildings, wiped clean. It is staggering.

Hope you're safe up there Doc! This has been a crazy hurricane season and I feel bad for everyone effected. This guy has one of the best weather channels on YouTube and has been helping with relief efforts in NC/TN. His reports are very accurate and I've been following him for years now. Way better than any national weather channel!

I haven't seen anything today but as of late yesterday they're saying it could be tracking a little more south now. It does look like all of FL will be effected in some way with this huge storm. It's supposed to weaken by the time it hit land but the storm surge is going to be pretty bad. Prayers to everyone in the area because this looks like it could be another bad one. ?
