Speaking of rumble seats, were they a factory option?
And how _did_ one get in there?
I think they were available as a separate trim option. My dad's second car was a 1935 ChevroletRoadster w/rumble seat. You could also get it in the 3 window coupe. You entered from the rear of the car. There were two step pads, one the bumper one on the fender. Step up on the bumper onto the fender pad and hop in- which I believe is where that expression came from.
This is a '35 Chevrolet Roadster like my dad's. note the step pads on the bumper and top of the fender. He bought his in '38 and drove it until went in the Army in 1940.

Dad's was black/tan/red spokes BSW tires, so he said, There isn't a photo of it. :crying:
