The shop on the Bitchin Rides TV show out on Utah restored one of these a while back. Pretty amazing vehicle.

Be sure to stop by of you are ever at the ACD museum. It's right behind ACD in one of the original Cord buildings.

The Thirties was a time when the world was coming out of the Depression and looking for The Next Big Thing. Cutting edge engineering projects like the Empire State Building (1931), Hoover Dam (1931-36) Golden Gate Bridge (1937) were designed and completed. Streamlining was in vogue in transportation. The Chrysler Airflow, Stout Scarab, arguably the first minivan, 20th Century Limited locomotive, and the Douglas DC-4 heralded the beginning of affordable passenger air travel. It's no wonder that GM and others got into the act. Then WWII put a different emphasis on technology.
