Curious how they calculate frontal area. Exposed surface area above cab level?

As the spec sheet says it is the TOTAL area of the vehicle AND trailer. Basically the hight and width of the trailer. The sad fact is that almost every travel trailers will will exceed this number no matter what truck you have. What it means is your mileage is going to be worse the bigger the trailer and the faster you drive. Over 60 mph is when the area makes a bigger factor than weight.

Hi everyone, I just picked up a 22 Silver Lariat 501 Tremor last Saturday. I paid MSRP no markup or dealer fee's Mullnax Ford in Florida.
I love this thing, I added an OEM receiver hitch and wiring, tailgate Damper and Truxedo Sentry CT bed cover, waiting on my bedrug but see ford has it as well for less money. 300 miles on it and can't keep my @$$ out of it It rides beautiful and sits right (to me)

I am trying to figure out how to retrofit the rear tow hooks with the class IV receiver, has anyone done this?

also question for Tremor owners with factory Tow package, what is your tong /tow weights?

To answer your question about tow ratings. All Rangers with tow package are rated at 7500 towing and 750 tongue weight. More important than these ratings is where you fall into the GCVWR which is the total combined weight of the truck, trailer, and all added mods , cargo and people in the truck. The other important numbers are the axle ratings on the truck. These ratings will be on the sticker on the drivers door. The only way to check these weights is to take your rig to a CAT scale and weigh it. Your tougue should be between 10 and 15 percent of trailer weight and can eat up close to half of your trucks total availablle payload.

Hi Yes thx for that that is actually what I was looking for was the GCVWR on a Tremor that came with the Tow package. I thought it may be different that an FX4 due to the larger tire size. Mine did not come with the Tow so it is low. Can someone please post a pic (with the vin blocked of course?)
