As the spec sheet says it is the TOTAL area of the vehicle AND trailer. Basically the hight and width of the trailer. The sad fact is that almost every travel trailers will will exceed this number no matter what truck you have. What it means is your mileage is going to be worse the bigger the trailer and the faster you drive. Over 60 mph is when the area makes a bigger factor than weight.Curious how they calculate frontal area. Exposed surface area above cab level?
