I’m thinking about getting a lift/level for my truck but I’m having a hard time deciding on which one. I’m thinking about going either Eibach 2.0 Coilover with BDS UCA or a Fox factory 2.0. I can get the Eibach front Coilover 2.0 and rear with rear block lift and bds UCA for around 2k and then 300 installation and alignment. The fox factory with install is around 2k. I’ve only read a few accounts of how Eibach handles off-road so I’m on the fence. I’m looking for a real world comparison between the two. I’ll be mainly using the truck for hunting in Idaho and WA and potentially some trail driving if time allows. Any insight would be helpful, thanks!

If you want a PROPER lift then I would suggest the Old Man EMU lift by ARB!! I have it on my Ranger and I love it!! The street ride is cleaned up and the offroad performance is nice for what it is!! I am in the High Rockies in Colorado and have been offroad quite a bit before and after and I can say the difference is great!! The one thing for comparison is one trail I did the whole teeter totter in one spot when stock. With the Old Man EMU I went through the same spot without having to worry about it!! Here are some pictures of it!! I also went with 265/70-17 Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3's.

I'm running a Fox 2.0's on all 4 corners with Fabtech UCA's and I'm pretty happy with it. You're on the right track by adding UCA's to you build. You can get away without them but the truck with handle and drive so much better on and offroad with them. Anything is better than the OE shocks and struts in all reality.

Agreed with the above. Regardless of what you go with, replacing the UCAs is the right move.

FWIW I'm running ICON and their UCAs and love the ride.

I installed Fox 2.0 front and back on my truck. It has a much better stance. The off-road ride quality is also much improved. I also swapped out the stock tires for BFG KO2 265/65r18.

I was interested in this kit, what did it cost you?

I am also running the FOX 2.0 w/ BDS UCAs and I love the end result. Great height and really good ride quality. Very happy with the whole set-up.

As with everything, budget determines all. For a budget friendly setup that will run decently well (still for sure better than factory), Eibach stuff is decently good and relatively inexpensive for what you get (and you can look up Peak Suspension, the owner Nick runs an Eibach setup and beats the ever loving heck out of it and it's serving him well so you can ask him). For something a little more capable, I'd suggest stepping up to the fox or king 2.0 kit with Total Chaos upper arms, just a little more capability and longevity in joints/bushings/valving/materials etc and at that point you really should replace upper arms (anytime you're adding height to the suspension really because it throws the geometry all out of spec and will cause lots of premature component wear and you won't get the full functionality unless you do). Or if you really want it to be able to "boogie" off road, go anywhere at any speed, etc step it up to SVC billet control arms and King 2.5's. It makes this truck really incredible; mine is an absolute blast, but definitely not budget friendly haha.

Thanks for all the input. I ended up going with the Eibach setup with icon UCA. Got the front installed but the mechanics would not install the rear shocks due to defects in the welds.

waiting on the rma to come but COVID is delaying that a little. I’m liking the ride so far but can’t wait for the full setup to be installed.

Gettin a set of cooper st maxx 255/80/r17 installed tomorrow which will complete my build for now....well at least hold me over until my fiancé forgets how much money I spent on my “hobby”

Hi Tim,

Kudos to your mechanics. Clearly not properly welded. Good catch!
