Driving me nuts too. I spent half an hour down there trying to tie it up higher but nothing worked. Now I want to remove it to trim it back in my shop. What is the wire all about that runs to the top side of the vent (out of view)? And what is the best way to remove the plastic bolt that holds the vent to the metal flange? Thanks, I don’t want to bust something, hard to see everything in that confined space.

(PS I looked all over down there and no sign of any ducks, phew)

I took a pair of tin snips and cut a 1/2" off of it without removing it. its an awkward on your back operation but worked like a champ.

I had the same problem! I heal toe when driving and my foot was getting stuck on the vent every time I drove. 10 minutes and done....

I took mine off cut 2 inches of plastic off is closest to the sensor that I could put it back on easy job five minutes no more foot issues
