Hello all,

I thought i remembered reading somewhere that there is a known issue with shifting from 1st to 2nd? was that right?

... anyway, i shifted into reverse the other day and the truck jerked 2 or 3 times before acting normally. I try to be at a complete stop when shifting from drive to reverse of course, but this time it was very noticeable that something wasn't right. Has anyone else experienced this?

Owen, first how many miles is on the truck. Sometimes these tranny's need time to finish their learning process (approx. 3k+ - miles). The 10 spd in the wife's Mustang (I don't have my truck yet) was till acting stupid at 6K miles i.e., jerking into drive, and reverse. If it hadn't been driven in several days it wouldn't hook up in reverse, it would slip for awhile until it decided to move. I took it to the dealer, and they reprogrammed it. It's fine now. Sometimes these 10 speeds are just too stupid to learn. :)

When in normal drive mode it skips 2 nd gear unless under heavy load. No issue. It’s made to do this.

I have about 7500 miles on the truck. I’ll see if it happens again. Thanks!

That's right about the miles on the wife's car when I'd had enough of it's stupid ways. :)

I would wait until it happens again or consistently occurs. Glitches, flukes, anomalies can happen. Things aren't perfect.

Clunking when shifting between drive and reverse is usually from driveline slack, worn ujoints or loose motor/trans mounting. But if that was the case it would happen EVERY time.
