This reminds me of a story I heard about the theme song. The refreshments recorded it an were offered a lump sum or royalties. They chose the lump sum. I heard it was a quarter or half a million. The show wasn't a success yet an they didn't know if it would last. I'm guessing they lost millions on that decision if true.
